Sterling Silver and Green Onyx Oval Pendant - A large oval pendant featuring a green gemstone cabochon set in a sterling silver frame. The translucent forest green stone displays internal clouding and natural inclusions, characteristic of green onyx or chalcedony. The stone is held in a bezel setting surrounded by a decorative rope-twist border. The sterling silver frame is attached to a polished bail. An impressed numerical mark is visible on the reverse of the bail, which reads 925, indicating the piece is made of sterling silver. Length: 1 5/8 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom edge Width: 1 1/16 inches across the widest point. This antique item shows surface tarnish and oxidation consistent with age, particularly in the recessed areas of the rope border (photo 1) and around the bail (photo 3). The gemstone remains polished and intact without visible chips or cracks. An irregular solder joint is visible where the bail loop meets the pendant frame (photo 3). Translucency and internal natural inclusions are visible when the stone is backlit (photo 4).
