A Collection of Sterling Silver Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout and Cub Scout Pins and Medals - A collection of vintage Boy Scouts of America insignia crafted from sterling silver. The group features an Eagle Scout rank medal consisting of a red, white, and blue grosgrain ribbon suspended from a scrolled silver-tone bar embossed with the motto BE PREPARED. The reverse of this bar features an impressed square mark containing a figure and the word STERLING. Hanging from the ribbon is a silver-tone eagle pendant embossed with the letters BSA. The reverse of the eagle pendant is impressed with the letters S, T, E, R, L, I, N, and G. Included is a smaller silver-tone eagle pin with a screw-back closure, embossed BSA on the front, with an identical square mark on the reverse containing a figure and STERLING. Completing the collection is a two-part pin for a Cub Scouts Den Mother, featuring a gold-toned five-pointed star with an eagle crest, linked to a triangular silver-tone charm. The charm depicts a wolf head and the letters B, S, A above a banner reading DEN MOTHER. The reverse of this triangular charm is impressed with the characters STERLING inside a square cartouche. The items exhibit a natural dark patina. The full length of the Eagle Scout medal is approximately 4 inches. Total weight of the group: 25.065 grams (0.8059 ozt). The items are in aged antique condition. The Eagle Scout medal ribbon shows fraying along the edges and some light staining on the blue section (photo 1). The metal components throughout the collection exhibit significant oxidation and dark patina consistent with aged silver (photo 2). The hardware on the reverse of the pins, including the screw-back on the small eagle and the pin-back on the Den Mother star, appears intact (photo 5).
