A Pair of Antique Krementz 14kt Gold Overlay Toggle Back Cufflinks - A pair of antique rectangular toggle-back cufflinks featuring an engine-turned design. The front face of each cufflink consists of a central cartouche with a repeating wave or scallop pattern, framed by a smooth, polished border. The items are constructed with a toggle or bullet back closure mechanism. The bridge of the toggle mechanism on one cufflink bears several stamped marks. There is a cursive script signature reading Krementz. To the right of the signature is a stamp reading U.S.A. Below the signature, a block-letter stamp reads 14KT R.G. OVERLAY. Face length: 3/4 inch Face width: 1/2 inch. These antique items show signs of age and wear consistent with their history. There is visible tarnish and surface oxidation throughout the metal surfaces, particularly on the reverse face and the toggle posts (photo 3). Minor surface scratches and pitting are visible on the front and back of the rectangular faces (photo 1 and 4). The gold overlay shows thinning and wear along the edges and corners of the rectangular panels (photo 2). The toggle mechanisms remain functional.
