Antique Silver Tone Teardrop Pendant with Green Chalcedony Cabochon - This antique teardrop-shaped pendant features a large pear-cut cabochon of medium-green chalcedony. The stone is bezel-set within an intricate decorative frame of silver-tone metal. The border design consists of a twisted rope wire inner rim surrounded by a wider band of fine granulated beads. The reverse of the pendant displays a hammered, textured backplate and is fitted with a simple loop bail and a single jump ring. There are no maker marks, metal purity stamps, or country-of-origin marks visible on the piece. Length: 1 5/8 inches Width: 1 1/8 inches Weight: 8.571 grams (5.513 dwt). This antique item is in good condition with wear consistent with age. The silver-tone metal shows heavy oxidation and tarnish throughout the granulated border and on the reverse backplate (photos 1, 4). The green gemstone exhibits several fine surface scratches and light scuffing across the face of the cabochon (photo 2). The jump ring at the top shows slight deformation from previous use (photo 3).
