Antique Sterling Silver and Chatoyant Cabochon Double Band Cocktail Ring - This antique handcrafted cocktail ring is composed of sterling silver and features a large oval cabochon center stone. The stone, measuring approximately 16 mm by 12 mm, displays a prominent cat's eye effect or chatoyancy, appearing in a translucent yellow-green hue with a sharp vertical band of light across its surface. The stone is secured in a full bezel setting. The shank is designed as a split double band with a deliberately hammered, artisanal texture. The underside of the setting is enclosed, and no hallmarks or maker's marks are visible on the interior or exterior of the metal. Ring Size: 6.5 Weight: 5.055 grams. The ring is in good antique condition. The sterling silver metal displays a dark, heavy patina and surface oxidation consistent with age and wear (photo 1). The stone remains intact with no visible chips or cracks, although faint surface abrasions from typical use are visible under magnification (photo 2). The hammered texture on the band is a design feature and remains well-defined (photo 3).
