Vintage Glass Cameo Pendant with Yellow Metal Scroll Border - This antique-style cameo pendant features a molded white profile bust of a classical figure set against a pink ground. The cameo is constructed from glass or a composite material rather than hand-carved stone. It is housed in a yellow-toned metal bezel, likely brass or a base metal alloy, which is framed by a decorative twisted rope border. The top of the pendant is fitted with a small circular suspension loop. The bottom section of the mounting is designed with a scalloped fan-like element featuring embossed bead detailing. The reverse of the piece shows three small circular apertures where hardware for a pin or brooch may have previously been attached. Height: 1 inch (approximately 2.5 cm) including suspension loop Width: 0.5 inches (approximately 1.3 cm). This antique item shows signs of its age. The pink background of the cameo exhibits heavy surface crazing and fine cracks throughout the surface (photo 1). There is accumulated dark residue and dirt within the recessed details of the white glass bust (photo 4). The metal mounting shows surface oxidation, tarnish, and wear to the gold-toned finish, particularly on the reverse (photo 3). Components are missing from the reverse where the three attachment holes are visible (photo 3).
