Antique Sterling Silver Scenic Picture Jasper Trapezoidal Pendant - This antique handcrafted pendant features a large, trapezoid-shaped cabochon of scenic picture jasper. The stone is characterized by natural banding and inclusions in earth tones of tan, charcoal grey, and brown, creating a landscape-like visual. The jasper is secured in a sterling silver bezel setting with a decorative sawtooth inner wire. The frame is constructed with a multi-layered, architectural design, featuring a stepped outer border with a polished finish. The pendant is suspended from a large, plain silver bail attached to the frame by a small jump ring. A small fineness mark is stamped on the jump ring, which is impressed with the characters 925, signifying sterling silver purity. Length: 2 inches (from top of bail to base) Width: 1.5 inches (at widest point). The pendant is in good antique condition. There are minor surface scratches and faint scuffs across the polished silver frame and bail (photo 3). A natural patina and areas of tarnish are visible within the recessed grooves of the decorative wire and the jump ring (photo 1). The picture jasper cabochon is intact and shows no visible chips, cracks, or fractures to its polished surface (photo 2).
