Carved Deep Amber Toned Floral Motif Resin Dress Clip - A vintage shield-shaped dress clip featuring a deep mahogany to translucent burnt orange resin body. The front is decorated with high-relief floral carvings, depicting two five-petaled flowers surrounded by leaves and scalloped foliate edging. The material exhibits swirling and transparency characteristic of early plastics intended to simulate carved amber or tortoiseshell. The reverse side features a hinged gold-tone metal clip mechanism with a textured pattern and two internal grip prongs. The metal hinge is secured with two visible rivets. There are no maker marks, signatures, or country-of-origin stamps visible on the resin or the metal hardware. Length: 2 3/8 inches Width: 1 5/8 inches. The resin body shows light surface scratches and scuffs on the front and back consistent with antique age (photo 1, photo 3). There is a minor point of wear on one of the lower scalloped edges (photo 1). The metal clip mechanism displays green verdigris corrosion on the interior surface and near the hinge (photo 4). The gold-tone finish on the metal components shows surface wear and oxidation in several areas (photo 3, photo 4).
