Antique Sterling Silver Egyptian Revival Cleopatra Brooch with Green Stone - This antique sterling silver brooch features an oval medallion with an Egyptian Revival motif. The design depicts a female profile, traditionally associated with Cleopatra, wearing a tripartite wig and a vulture headdress topped with a bovine-horn and sun-disk crown. A uraeus (cobra) is visible at the forehead, and the figure wears a broad collar with a chevron-patterned border. Set within the sun-disk of the crown is a single round, faceted green stone. The brooch is constructed with a tube hinge and a C-clasp mechanism. The pin stem is long and extends slightly past the edge of the frame. No maker marks, hallmarks, or metal fineness stamps are visible on the reverse. Length: 1 inch (approximately 25 mm) measured at the longest point. The antique brooch shows surface wear consistent with age, including areas where the plating has worn to reveal a yellow-toned base metal on the high relief of the face and the reverse (photo 2). Dark oxidation is present in the recessed areas of the textured wig and collar, as well as on the reverse (photo 3). A small rust-colored spot is visible on the field to the right of the figure's head (photo 1). The faceted green stone is intact and securely set. The pin mechanism shows surface oxidation but remains functional (photo 4).
