This set features an O and O27 gauge GP-9 diesel locomotive equipped with an internal micro-electronic video camera designed to transmit a black-and-white signal to a television receiver. The locomotive is constructed with a gray plastic shell, a stamped metal chassis, and metal handrails. It is powered by two AC-DC motors and features remote forward-neutral-reverse operation. The locomotive exterior is printed with white text reading LIONEL LINES along the sides, MADE BY LIONEL on the front, and the number 3000 below a circular red and blue logo containing a stylized L. The set is housed in its original color-illustrated retail window box with an integrated cardboard header. The system is designed to operate on television channels 3 or 4 and features automatic irising and a 22-degree field of vision. , The locomotive is housed in its original internal packaging, though its functional status is untested. The original retail box shows significant wear and damage. Notable defects include large areas of surface paper loss and white abrasions on the top right and top left corners of the front panel (photo 1 and 5).
