USA Trains G-Scale Lehigh Valley GP38-2 Diesel Locomotive Road Number 315 - A large-scale model diesel locomotive finished in the Lehigh Valley Railroad Cornell Red livery with yellow lettering and accents. The model represents an EMD GP38-2 locomotive, identified by printed characters reading GP38-2 near the front steps. The body features the road number 315 on the cab sides and ends, along with the Lehigh Valley diamond logo on the nose and rear hood. The end pilots are decorated with black and white diagonal safety stripes. Multiple small printed labels are present across the body, including FIRE EXTINGUISHER, DANGER 600 VOLTS, and EMERGENCY FUEL SHUT OFF. The locomotive is constructed with a molded plastic shell and is equipped with metal handrails and ladders. The chassis features two motorized power trucks with brass wheels. An engineer figure is visible inside the cab through the side windows. The underside of the fuel tank features a large circular speaker grille and bears raised molded lettering that reads USA TRAINS, MALDEN, MASS. U.S.A., and MADE IN CHINA. Additional markings on the underside of the pilots include 667-06-07. The unit is fitted with knuckle couplers at both ends. , This item shows significant signs of previous use and long-term storage. There is a heavy accumulation of dust and cobwebs across the entire exterior, including the walkways, top of the hood, and trucks (photos 1, 4, and 5). The most prominent defect is extensive white paint splatter or spotting concentrated on the rear half of the locomotive body, walkways, and pilot (photos 5, 6, and 7). Several handrail sections appear slightly bent or warped from their original alignment (photos 4 and 6). There is visible scuffing and surface scratching on the underside of the black plastic fuel tank (photo 9). The mechanical and sound systems have not been tested.
