A Pair of Lionel 2025 Diecast Steam Locomotive Shells - A pair of vintage O-gauge steam locomotive body shells constructed from die-cast metal. These components represent the outer boiler and cab assemblies and do not contain internal motors, chassis, or wheel sets. The forms feature molded boiler bands, piping details, and sand domes. Each unit includes a cab with window apertures. The characters 2025 are cast in relief on the side of the cab on both shells. One shell retains a circular transparent headlight lens at the front of the boiler, while the other unit lacks this component. The lot includes a small plastic container holding an assortment of metal screws and small rods intended for assembly or repair. , Both die-cast shells show evidence of significant age and use. There is extensive paint loss, chipping, and surface wear across the black finish on both units (photo 1). One shell exhibits a heavy accumulation of white oxidation and residue on the boiler front, smokestack area, and interior surfaces (photo 8). The shell without the headlight lens shows visible residue inside the headlight housing (photo 8). Scratches and abrasions are present on the cab roofs and along the lower edges of the castings (photo 3). The items are incomplete parts only, missing all internal mechanical components, handrails, and running gear. The associated hardware in the plastic cup shows surface tarnishing and wear (photo 2).
