Lionel Lines 1689T O-Gauge Streamlined Model Train Tender - A vintage Lionel O-gauge model train tender, constructed from black painted tinplate sheet metal. The body features a streamlined silhouette with simulated rivet detailing and a ventilated section on the top. The sides of the tender are finished with the uppercase printed white lettering L I O N E L L I N E S. The underside of the black chassis is marked with the printed white model number 1689T. The item is equipped with two four-wheel trucks and a manual stamped metal rear coupler. The construction includes a combination of a sheet metal body and a stamped metal frame. , The tender shows signs of heavy play wear and long-term storage. There is significant paint loss and chipping along the roof edges, corners, and raised rivet details on both sides (photos 1 and 3). The black finish exhibits overall surface dullness and an accumulation of dust. Surface oxidation and light rust are visible on the exposed metal surfaces, particularly along the top edges and on the metal wheel axles and coupler (photo 4). The original white lettering remains legible despite some minor abrasions. The wheels and trucks appear structurally intact and move freely, although the underside shows moderate grime and oxidation (photo 4).
