An Assortment of Lionel Corporation O-Gauge Model Train Components and Parts - A group of O-gauge model train components and freight cars. The collection includes a die-cast metal motorized locomotive chassis featuring two large drive wheels and a central gear mechanism. The underside of the motor unit is fitted with a rectangular embossed plate reading LIONEL CORPORATION NY. Also included is a silver-painted die-cast metal operating boxcar with a yellow feather graphic and black text reading Western Pacific. The side is further marked with characters W P 3474 and NEW 1 52. The underside of the boxcar features a central cross-shaped mounting aperture. The set further contains a black plastic depressed-center flatcar frame featuring metal handwheels at each end and two four-wheel trucks. The underside of the flatcar is embossed with NO. 3459, LIONEL CORPORATION, NEW YORK, N.Y., MADE IN U. S. OF AMERICA. Accompanying the rolling stock are three stamped metal internal components, comprising two square-braced plates and one rectangular mounting bracket. , The items are in heavily used condition showing significant signs of age and long-term storage. The motorized chassis exhibits surface oxidation on the metal frame and gears, with frayed ends on the two trailing black wires (photo 2). The Western Pacific boxcar shows extensive paint loss and surface rust across the roof and sides (photo 5); one sliding door is detached (photo 7) and the other side is missing a door entirely. The interior mechanism of the boxcar shows visible corrosion (photo 6). The flatcar frame is dusty with surface rust noted on the metal axles and wheels (photo 4). All pieces exhibit a heavy accumulation of dust and surface grime.
