Lionel Hogwarts Express 5972 Steam Locomotive O Gauge - This is a molded plastic O-gauge electric model steam locomotive, designed as the Hogwarts Express engine number 5972 from the Harry Potter film franchise. The locomotive features a 4-6-0 wheel arrangement with moving gray plastic side rods and metal axles. The body is finished in a deep red with black accents and gold-colored highlights, including yellow domes on the boiler. A nameplate on the front of the smoke box reads HOGWARTS EXPRESS and the number 5972 is printed below the headlight. Additional arched nameplates on the sides of the boiler read HOGWARTS CASTLE, and the cab sides are marked with the number 5972 in a gold border. The interior of the cab features a detailed backhead with molded representations of valves, pipes, and controls. The underside of the chassis is embossed with Lionel L.L.C., Lionel, and Made in China. Adjacent to this, white printed text reads TM & Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. (s08). The locomotive is equipped with a rear coupling for attachment to a tender and features a central pickup roller for operation on a three-rail track system. , The locomotive is in used condition and exhibits a heavy accumulation of dust and lint across all upper surfaces, particularly visible on the cab roof, boiler, and front pilot (photos 1 and 2). Minor scratches and surface wear are present on the plastic body consistent with previous play. The black traction tires on the rear driving wheels appear intact but show signs of age (photo 6). The engine is missing its matching tender, which is not included. The mechanical and electrical functions, including the motor, lights, and any sound effects, have not been tested.
