Marx 1829 O-Gauge 2-6-4 Steam Locomotive - This electric O-gauge model steam locomotive features a 2-6-4 wheel arrangement and is constructed from molded black plastic with a metal chassis and mechanical components. The boiler front and cab sides are molded with the number 1829. A circular logo is present on the side of the boiler containing the characters M, A, R, and X arranged around a large central X. The rear of the cab features molded interior details representing a backhead with simulated gauges, levers, and shovels. The locomotive is equipped with an underside metal three-rail pickup shoe and geared drive wheels. , The locomotive is in used condition with a significant layer of dust and lint across the body (photo 1). Scuffs and surface scratches are visible on the plastic shell, particularly on the roof of the cab and along the top of the boiler (photo 4). The metal drive wheels and linkage show surface oxidation and light rust (photo 6). The rear trailing truck is present, though the axles show visible corrosion (photo 6). The front pilot truck is intact. The item is missing its tender, and the functionality of the motor has not been tested.
