Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Vintage Radio
A Collection of Vintage Radio Shack Archer and Jim-Pak Electronic Components and Model Hobbyist Parts - A large assortment of vintage electronic components and model hobbyist parts, primarily dating from the late 1960s to the 1980s. The lot is largely comprised of ”New Old Stock” (NOS) items in their original retail blister packaging. The collection includes a diverse range of semiconductors and integrated circuits. Notable items include a Radio Shack Archer 8-Bit N-Channel Microprocessor (Item 276-2510, marked INS8080AN), an Archer Complex Sound Generator (Item 276-1766, marked SN76488N), and various TTL and Schottky logic gates (Items 276-1804 and 276-1917). A 741 Op Amp (Item 276-007) is also present. The semiconductor selection features several vintage germanium transistors (Items 276-2002, 276-2003, and 276-2005) in TO-1 cases, which are noted for their use in period audio applications. Silicon transistors including NPN type 2SC945 and a bulk pack of approximately 15 PNP 2N3906 transistors are included, along with Jim-Pak Zener diodes (1N4734 and 1N4742). Passive components consist of various capacitors and potentiometers. Included are Archer non-polarized electrolytics, metalized film capacitors, and electrolytic capacitors of various ratings. Jim-Pak polyester Mylar capacitors are also present. Variable resistors include a large shaft Archer potentiometer and a mini PC potentiometer. Hobbyist and specialty items feature two Archer silicon solar cells: a 4-inch diameter cell (Item 276-127) rated at 0.42V/1.7A and a 3-inch cell (Item 276-122) rated at 0.45V/500mA. The lot also contains a Faller AC motor (Item 629) produced by Gebr. Faller GmbH in Germany, intended for professional model building. Model railroading supplies include a Seuthe Füllset No. 101 smoke distillate kit with a 10ml bottle and syringe. Several loose items are included, such as two small DC motors and two white plastic modules with five-hole circular vents. Packaging displays various manufacturer markings, including Archer Electronic Parts (a division of Tandy Corporation, Fort Worth, Texas), Jim-Pak electronic components, and Faller. Origin markings include Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Spain, and Germany. Price stickers from Radio Shack are visible on many items. Measurements provided on packaging: Silicon Solar Cell Diameter: 4 inches (10.1 cm) Silicon Solar Cell Diameter: 3 inches (7.6 cm). , The items are largely in their original vintage blister packs. The packaging shows significant signs of age and storage wear, including heavy yellowing and brittleness of the plastic blisters (Photo 1), creasing and staining of the card backs (Photo 3, 21), and surface dust. The 8080A microprocessor card has a significant tear in the cardboard (Photo 7). The 4-inch solar cell packaging is heavily worn with fraying edges (Photo 25). The Faller motor blister has a visible crack in the plastic casing (Photo 4). Two unidentified modules and two DC motors are loose and out of original packaging (Photo 1). All components are untested and sold in as-is condition.
