Seeland Watch Co Art Deco Pendant Watch with Faceted Crystal and 12 Karat Gold Filled Bezel - A square Art Deco pendant or lapel watch featuring a two-tone dial with a silvered center and cream-colored chapter ring. The dial is signed SEELAND in black block lettering above the center arbor. It features black Arabic numerals and a square rail-track minute border. A recessed square sub-seconds dial is positioned at the 6 o'clock mark with black numerals for 10 through 60. The watch is fitted with dark metal baton hour and minute hands; the seconds hand is missing from the sub-dial. The case features a heavily faceted clear crystal, possibly synthetic, over a metal body. The interior of the case back is struck with a circular mark reading DO and the text 12K G.F. BEZEL ON S.S. above a serial number 00150. A single fixed loop is attached to the bottom of the case for suspension from a chain or pin. The manual-wind mechanical movement is visible when the case is opened, signed SWISS and SEELAND WATCH CO. It is further marked SEVEN 7 JEWELS and UNADJUSTED. The movement bears the three-letter Swiss import code MXH stamped on a bridge. A regulation scale is present with marks for R S and A F. The crown is located on the right side of the case. The watch does not run and needs a second hand. Case: 17 mm square. The watch shows significant wear consistent with age. The faceted crystal is heavily scratched and exhibits a prominent crack or deep surface abrasion running diagonally across the upper left quadrant (photo 1). The metal case shows surface scratching and oxidation throughout, with visible brassing and loss of the gold-filled layer on the edges, corners, and the winding crown (photos 2-5). The dial has a light patina and minor spotting, particularly visible near the center and edges (photo 6). The sub-seconds hand is missing from the sub-dial (photo 6). The interior of the case back shows heavy circular scuffing and oxidation (photo 7). The movement appears complete, though the crown and stem are extended and loose from the movement body in the provided view (photo 8). The watch is non-functional and requires mechanical service.
