Marcel Calendar Swiss Mechanical Wristwatch with Box and Papers - A vintage Marcel Calendar mechanical wristwatch featuring a black dial with a textured sunburst pattern radiating from the center. The dial is set with silver-tone applied baton markers and Arabic numerals at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. A date window with red numerals is positioned at 6 o'clock. The dial is printed with the Marcel script logo, CALENDAR, UNBREAKABLE MAINSPRING, and SWISS MADE. The timepiece is housed in a base metal case with a stainless steel screw-down back. The case back is engraved with a shield logo containing the words DIAMOND TOOLED, surrounded by the text ELECTRONICALLY TIMED, ANTIMAGNETIC, BASE METAL, and SWISS MADE. The interior of the case back is stamped MARCEL WATCH CORP. and CASE SWISS MADE. The manual wind movement is visible in a disassembled state and is engraved with MARCEL WATCH CORP., ONE 1 JEWEL, and SWISS MADE UNADJUSTED. It also bears the KBW import code. The watch is fitted with a silver-tone Speidel expansion bracelet. The interior links of the bracelet are stamped SPEIDEL, PAT 2,689,450, and STAINLESS STEEL BOTTOM CAPS. This lot includes the original Marcel & Cie plastic presentation box, a yellow plastic insert, and a paper guarantee certificate from the Marcel Watch Corp., located at 580 Fifth Avenue, New York, N. Y. 10036. Case diameter: 34 mm. The watch is currently disassembled (photo 11, 13, 14). The watch runs. The dial exhibits significant surface aging, spotting, and oxidation throughout (photo 4, 11). The acrylic crystal is heavily scratched and scuffed (photo 3, 4). The base metal case shows substantial pitting, plating loss, and oxidation, particularly visible on the underside of the lugs and case body (photo 9, 10). The crown displays heavy brassing and wear to the gold-tone plating (photo 5, 8). The expansion bracelet shows surface grime and wear consistent with age (photo 6, 7). The plastic presentation box has surface scratches and residue from old adhesive (photo 2).
