Antique Art Deco Silvered Metal Mechanical Wristwatch Case and Dial Assembly - A vintage Art Deco wristwatch case and dial assembly, dating to the circa 1920s or 1930s. The square case is constructed from a white metal alloy with elaborate floral and geometric foliate engraving along the side and bezel edges. The toned champagne dial features stylized black Arabic numerals in an Art Deco font, a square rail-track minute border, and a square sub-seconds dial located at the 6 o'clock position. The center of the dial is decorated with a geometric bowtie or stylized X-shaped motif. The timepiece is fitted with blued steel hour and minute hands, with the minute hand featuring a circular eye detail. The case is constructed with a hinged front bezel and a separate interior housing for the movement. The interior of the case back features an engine-turned finish and is stamped with the uppercase characters I.W.C. CO. ARGONIC. The assembly includes two brass-toned spring bars mounted on fixed-style lugs. Width: 26 mm Height: 35 mm (including lugs). The watch is currently in non-running condition and missing its winding crown and stem (photo 3). The dial exhibits heavy age-related patina, surface spotting, and fine crazing across the entire surface (photo 2). The case shows significant wear, pitting, and loss to the exterior plating, particularly on the case back and lug edges, exposing the base metal beneath (photo 5). The blued steel hands show surface oxidation (photo 10). The hinged crystal is present but displays numerous surface scratches (photo 1). The interior case back remains relatively clean with visible maker marks (photo 11).
