Bulova Quartz Gold Tone Calendar Wristwatch with Firefighter Memorial Engraving - A men's Bulova wristwatch featuring a round gold-tone base metal bezel and a stainless steel case back. The white dial is signed BULOVA below a tuning fork logo and displays gold-tone baton hour indices, matching hands, and a central sweep seconds hand. A date aperture is positioned at 3 o'clock. The lower portion of the dial, near the 6 o'clock position, bears the printed reference number 97B31. The watch is fitted with a stainless steel expansion bracelet. The case back is struck with the following text: BULOVA QUARTZ, WATER RESISTANT, A2, BASE METAL BEZEL, and STAINLESS STEEL BACK. The center of the case back features a professionally engraved Maltese Cross emblem for a firefighter, containing the letters EPFF and the number 709. Below this emblem, the name KENNETH T. CARTWRIGHT is engraved along with the dates 1-25-71 and 12-30-02. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and needs a battery. Diameter: 35 mm (measured across the case excluding the crown). The watch is in poor to fair vintage condition. There is significant wear and brassing to the gold-tone plating on the bezel and lugs, with base metal showing through the finish (photos 1 and 2). Heavy green oxidation (verdigris) is visible on the underside of the lugs and along the case edges (photo 6). The crystal exhibits light surface scratches across the center (photo 2). The stainless steel expansion band is heavily worn with visible surface scratches and accumulated grime between the links (photo 5). The movement is currently untested and requires a new battery.
