Early 20th Century Omega WW1 0.900 Silver Trench Watch - This early 20th-century trench-style wristwatch features a white enamel dial with the Omega brand name and logo printed in black below the 12 o'clock position. The dial is set with large Arabic numerals and a railroad-style minute track, including a sub-seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The dial is marked SWISS MADE at the bottom. The watch is fitted with cathedral-style hands. The 0.900 silver case features fixed wire lugs and a hinged case back. The interior of the case back is struck with a rectangular mark reading 0.900, the serial number 5966992, and a small capital H. The manual wind movement is engraved OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS, 15 JEWELS, and ADJUSTED 2 POSITIONS. The movement serial number 5311452 is visible on the bridge. The regulator is marked with a scale and the letters F A S R. The watch is presented on a distressed brown leather strap. The watch needs a crown and stem. Case Diameter: 32 mm Overall Length: 8.5 inches. The white enamel dial exhibits several hairline cracks and surface grime, notably between the 10 and 2 o'clock positions (photo 6). The luminous material on the numerals and cathedral hands has significantly darkened and shows loss and degradation (photo 1). The small seconds hand is present but shows surface oxidation (photo 6). The 0.900 silver case shows heavy scratching, tarnishing, and small indentations consistent with age and use (photo 4). The crown and stem are missing, leaving an open aperture on the side of the case (photo 1). The movement shows surface oxidation and accumulated dust (photo 7). The leather strap is extremely worn, brittle, and shows significant deterioration and fraying, particularly at the lug attachments (photo 5) and the tail (photo 10). The crystal shows light surface scratching and grime (photo 1). The watch is currently non-functional.
