Bulova Ladies 17 Jewel Mechanical Cocktail Watch with Expansion Bracelet - A vintage mid-century ladies mechanical cocktail watch featuring a Swiss-made manual wind movement. The champagne sunburst dial is marked BULOVA and SWISS below the six o'clock position. The dial is set with applied gold-tone baton hour markers and two pointed hands. The movement is visible when the case is opened and is marked BULOVA WATCH CO, 6CF, 17 SEVENTEEN JEWELS, SWISS, and UNADJUSTED. It bears the import code BXW on the balance bridge and a date code M9, corresponding to a manufacture year of 1969. The interior case back is stamped with the reference number 2673 over 125. Several hand-etched jeweler’s service marks are present, including one reading 1971 R and another reading J7P B96X/606/. The base metal case features a textured linen finish on the bezel and decorative V-shaped lugs that connect to a stainless steel expansion-style bracelet. The watch is powered by a manual winding crown at the three o'clock position. The watch does not run. The case shows significant wear to the plating, with base metal visible on the edges and lugs (photo 1). The dial exhibits heavy spotting, oxidation, and discoloration across the surface (photo 7). The acrylic crystal has surface scratches and clouding throughout (photo 5). The winding crown shows heavy wear and brassing (photo 10). There is visible oxidation and dirt accumulation within the case crevices and between the expansion links of the bracelet (photo 3). The movement appears complete but contains dried lubricants and dust (photo 8).
