An Assortment of Antique and Vintage Pocket Watch and Wristwatch Movements and Dials including Elgin and Lucerne - A collection of four watch movements and dials for restoration or parts. The collection includes a Swiss-made Lucerne Electra movement with a textured silver-tone sunburst dial. The dial is printed Lucerne, ELECTRA, UNBREAKABLE MAINSPRING, ANTIMAGNETIC, and SWISS MADE. It features applied gold-tone Arabic numerals at the cardinal hours and faceted hour markers. The manual-wind movement is stamped AMERICAN TIME CO., ZZ, SWISS MADE, ONE 1 JEWEL, and UNADJUSTED. A larger Elgin pocket watch movement features a white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals and a red outer five-minute track, with a sunken sub-seconds dial at the six o'clock position. The nickel-finished movement is highly decorated with damaskeening and is engraved Elgin Natl Watch Co., U.S.A., SAFETY PINION, 17 JEWELS, and ADJUSTED. It bears the serial number 12175950. The group also includes an unbranded white porcelain dial pocket watch movement with black Roman numerals, black leaf hands, and a sunken sub-seconds dial. The brass movement lacks legible maker marks and shows a bridge-style layout. A smaller movement features a white porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals and gold-tone minute dots, fitted with ornate gold-tone Louis XIV style hands. The movement plates are unmarked but feature a regulator scale engraved with P and A. Diameters measured across the widest point: Item 1 (Lucerne): 1 1/8 inches Item 2 (Small porcelain dial): 1 inch Item 3 (Elgin): 1 3/4 inches Item 4 (Roman numeral dial): 2 inches. The lot is offered in as-is condition for parts or restoration; mechanical functionality has not been tested. The Lucerne dial shows significant oxidation and surface spotting (photo 2). The Elgin dial has multiple prominent hairline cracks radiating from the center toward the 11 and 1 o'clock positions, and a chip at the bottom edge near the 6 o'clock mark (photo 8). The Roman numeral dial shows surface staining and minor chips around the center arbor and perimeter (photo 11). The small porcelain dial is largely clean with minor surface dust (photo 6). The movements exhibit varying degrees of surface oxidation, dust, and patina, most notably on the brass plates of the unbranded examples (photos 7 and 12). The balance bridge is present on the largest movement but appears incomplete (photo 12).
