Elgin Art Deco Manual Wind Cocktail Watch - A vintage American-made ladies cocktail wristwatch featuring a manual wind mechanical movement. The cream-toned dial is marked ELGIN in black lettering and features applied yellow-tone Arabic numeral hour markers and a black printed rectangular railway minute track. The watch is constructed with a two-part case; the top bezel is finished in a yellow-toned metal, while the case back is composed of base metal. The movement is visible upon removal from the case and is inscribed ELGIN U.S.A. 15 JEWELS and bears the serial number 38928351. The movement plate also includes a regulator scale marked S and F for slow and fast adjustments. The interior of the case back is stamped with a keystone logo containing a circle, and is inscribed CASED AND TIMED BY ELGIN NATIONAL WATCH CO, BASE METAL, and the number 64650. The exterior of the case back repeated the keystone logo and BASE METAL stamp. The watch features fixed loop lugs and a fluted crown. Despite visible external wear, the movement runs. Length: 1.125 inches Width: 0.625 inches (excluding crown). The watch is in poor aesthetic condition but the movement is functional. The yellow-tone plating on the bezel and crown shows significant loss, pitting, and heavy scratching throughout (photos 1, 3, and 4). The base metal case back and interior show surface scratches and minor oxidation (photos 2 and 10). The dial is heavily soiled with spotting, dust, and discoloration across the surface (photos 1 and 9). The crystal exhibits several surface scratches and scuffing (photo 8). The movement appears dusty but is operational (photo 11). The original strap or bracelet is missing.
