Vintage Waltham Gold Tone Manual Wind Wristwatch with Date Complication - A mid-century Waltham wristwatch featuring a gold-tone base metal bezel and a stainless steel case back. The aged silver-tone sunburst dial includes applied gold-tone baton hour markers and a date window at the 3 o'clock position. A small seconds sub-dial with concentric circular texture is located above the 6 o'clock position. The dial features a printed red stylized W logo above the name Waltham in script. The words SHOCK RESISTANT are printed in a curve above the sub-dial. The winding crown is embossed with a stylized W. The stainless steel case back is engraved with a central rectangular box containing the script name Waltham. Text curving around the upper perimeter reads ANTIMAGNETIC | SHOCKRESISTANT. The lower section is engraved BASE METAL BEZEL and S. STEEL BACK. The watch retains the upper portion of a brown leather strap, while the lower lugs are empty. Case diameter: 33mm (measured across the widest point excluding the crown). The watch is in poor aesthetic and mechanical condition. The dial exhibits heavy oxidation and spotting across the entire surface (photo 1). The acrylic crystal is severely scratched throughout, significantly obscuring the dial (photo 2). There is substantial wear to the gold plating on the bezel and lugs, revealing the base metal underneath (photo 4). The case back and crown show numerous fine scratches and surface wear (photo 3). The hour and minute hands are heavily oxidized (photo 2). The small seconds hand is missing from the sub-dial pivot (photo 1). The watch is cataloged as does not run.
