Antique Gotham Engraved Trench Style Wristwatch - This early 20th-century manual wind trench-style wristwatch features a circular case with fixed wire lugs and intricate foliate engraving. The silver-tone dial is printed with the name GOTHAM in capital letters below the 12 o'clock position. The dial displays stylized Arabic numerals, a railroad minute track, and a sub-seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position. The case is constructed from a base metal, showing signs of previous nickel or silver plating, with a decorative repeating scroll pattern engraved around the bezel and case sides. The case back features a circular border with an engraved geometric link motif. The watch retains oxidized hour and minute hands and a small seconds hand. The winding stem and crown are missing. Case diameter: approximately 1 inch (25mm) measured across the body. The watch is in poor, non-working condition and does not run as it needs a crown and stem (photo 3). The dial shows heavy oxidation, spotting, and significant fading to the numerals (photo 1). The crystal is scratched and appears clouded (photo 5). There is extensive pitting and loss of plating across the case, lugs, and case back (photos 2 and 4). Green oxidation (verdigris) is visible in the engraved crevices and around the stem hole (photo 3). The hands are heavily oxidized (photo 1).
