Antique .800 Silver Open Face Pin Set Pocket Watch with Decorated Enamel Dial - A late 19th-century Swiss-market open-face pocket watch featuring an .800 silver case. The white enamel dial is decorated with a polychrome blue and gold-tone floral motif at the center. It displays black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer track with Arabic numerals at five-minute intervals. The watch is fitted with ornate, pierced dark metal hands. The interior of the case back features an impressed rectangular cartouche containing the number 800, positioned above the struck initials J G. Further down is an engraved ribbon banner containing the script name Idy Racine, situated above a small six-pointed star and a small hallmark depicting a bird in profile. The case back is finished with engine-turned guilloche engraving surrounding a central vacant shield-shaped cartouche with scroll and foliate accents, and the case edges are ribbed. The interior case back is stamped with the number 412269, and the movement plate is stamped with the number 185841. This manual wind, bridge-style mechanical movement features a cylinder escapement and a pin-set mechanism for time adjustment. The watch is missing its crown and stem. The watch measures approximately 1.25 inches in diameter excluding the pendant and bow. The watch is in non-functional condition and requires professional restoration, as it needs a crown and stem (photo 7). The enamel dial shows several hairline cracks, most prominently between the 12 and 2 o'clock positions (photo 2). The movement exhibits surface oxidation and accumulated dust (photo 6). The silver case shows significant all-over tarnishing, with a heavy iridescent patina on the interior (photo 4) and surface wear, scratches, and minor indentations on the exterior consistent with age (photo 3).
