Timex Mercury Mechanical Wristwatch Reference 16050 2477 - A vintage Great Britain cased Timex Mercury mechanical wristwatch. The watch features a white dial with black printed Arabic numeral hour markers, a printed minute track, and black pointed baton hands. The dial is marked TIMEX below the 12 o'clock position and 1605002477 below the 6 o'clock position. The case is constructed with a chrome-plated base metal bezel and a stainless steel snap-on case back. The exterior case back is stamped with concentric text reading TIMEX, WATERPROOF, SHOCK RESISTANT, DUSTPROOF, CHR. PLATED BEZEL, and STAINLESS STEEL BACK. The interior of the case back is stamped with CASE GREAT BRITAIN TIMEX and features a purple ink stamp reading 11 P 66. The watch is powered by a manual wind mechanical movement and is noted to be in running condition. The crown is brass-toned, and the lugs are integrated into the bezel. This item is offered as the watch head only, without a strap or bracelet. The watch head measures approximately 1.3 inches (33mm) in diameter across the bezel excluding the crown. The watch is in fair vintage condition with signs of significant wear. The chrome plating on the bezel and lugs shows heavy pitting, scratches, and notable brassing where the base metal is exposed, particularly visible on the side profiles (photos 2, 4, 5, and 6) and the lugs. The lugs appear slightly bent (photo 5). The acrylic crystal is heavily scratched and scuffed across its entire surface (photo 1). The dial shows light spotting, generalized patina, and visible dust particles under the crystal (photo 1). The brass-toned crown shows significant loss of its original plating (photo 4). The movement shows surface oxidation and grime (photo 7). While the watch runs, its timekeeping accuracy and power reserve have not been tested.
