Fairfax 17 Jewels Swiss Made Manual Wind Wristwatch with Expansion Bracelet - This Swiss-made Fairfax manual wind wristwatch features a circular base metal case with a stainless steel screw-down case back. The dial is finished in an aged champagne tone and is printed with the brand name FAIRFAX and 17 JEWELS below the 12 o'clock position, and INCABLOC and SWISS MADE near the 6 o'clock position. The dial layout includes raised numeric hour markers for even numbers (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12) and dagger-shaped indices for odd intervals. An inner military scale provides 24-hour markers from 13 to 24. It is equipped with dauphine-style hour and minute hands and a central sweep seconds hand. A rectangular date aperture is located at the 3 o'clock position. The watch is fitted with a stainless steel expansion-style bracelet. The underside of the individual links is stamped Speidel U.S.A., and the end links are stamped STAINLESS STEEL U.S.A. The exterior case back is circularly brushed and bears the engraved inscriptions ALL STAINLESS STEEL, SWISS MADE, WATERPROOF, and SHOCKRESISTANT. This watch runs. The diameter of the case, measured across the center excluding the crown, is approximately 1.25 inches (photo 8). The watch is presented in heavily worn, as-found vintage condition. The base metal case shows significant pitting, scratches, and loss of plating, particularly evident on the lugs and bezel (photo 1, 2, 6). The acrylic crystal is heavily clouded with numerous deep scratches across the surface (photo 1, 3). The dial exhibits significant tropical patination, spotting, and discoloration throughout (photo 2). Oxidation is visible on the hands and applied hour markers (photo 2). The case back has multiple surface scratches (photo 6). The Speidel expansion bracelet is stretched, and there is a heavy accumulation of organic residue and grime between the links and around the case lugs (photo 4, 5, 7).
