Vintage 1964 Caravelle Selfwinding Wristwatch Head 30mm - A vintage Caravelle wristwatch head dating to 1964. The silver-tone dial features an aged, textured champagne patina, often referred to as a stardust effect. The dial is printed with CARAVELLE below the 12 o'clock position and SELFWINDING above the 6 o'clock position. It features raised Arabic numerals at the even hours and faceted bar indices at the odd hours. The watch is powered by an automatic self-winding movement. The case consists of a chrome or nickel-plated base metal bezel with a screw-down stainless steel case back. The case back is stamped in a circular pattern with the text CARAVELLE, STAINLESS STEEL BACK, SHOCK RESISTANT, ANTI-MAGNETIC, SELF WINDING, and WATER PROOF. A small date code M4 is stamped near the center of the case back. The watch is presented without spring bars or a strap. Case size 30mm. The watch is in heavily worn vintage condition and does not run. The base metal bezel shows significant plating loss, particularly on the lugs and edges, revealing the underlying brass-colored metal. The acrylic crystal is heavily scratched and displays a notable crack extending from the center toward the 4 o'clock position. The dial has significant spotting and discoloration throughout. The crown is present but shows wear. The stainless steel case back has numerous surface scratches.
