Jules Jurgensen Day-Date Quartz Wristwatch with Integrated Mesh Bracelet - A vintage gold-tone base metal wristwatch featuring a circular case with a textured, grain-finish dial. The dial displays applied gold-tone baton hour markers, a printed crown logo, and a day-date aperture located at the 3 o'clock position. The dial is printed with a cursive inscription reading Jules Jurgensen followed by Since 1740, and the word QUARTZ above the 6 o'clock mark. At the bottom edge of the dial, the text Y573 and JAPAN are printed. The watch is fitted with an integrated stainless steel mesh bracelet with a fold-over clasp. The stainless steel case back is personally engraved with the name BOB BERGER, the dates 11-17-48 and 1-31-85, and the company name AMERICAN LAFRANCE. The case back also bears the stamped model number 4417Q and is peripherally inscribed STAINLESS STEEL BACK and BASE METAL BEZEL. Internally, the watch contains a Japanese-made quartz movement signed JULES JURGENSEN CORP. Y573A, noted as having TWO 2 JEWELS. The movement also bears a small print reading JAPAN. The interior of the case back is printed JULES JURGENSEN CASE HONG KONG. The bracelet clasp is stamped STAINLESS STEEL HONG KONG. This timepiece needs a battery. Case diameter: 1.25 inches (32mm) Total length including case: approximately 9 inches. The watch shows significant wear to the gold-tone finish of the base metal case, with extensive pitting and oxidation visible particularly on the lugs and sides (photo 4, 5, 6). The crystal is heavily scratched and displays multiple vertical cracks extending from the top to the bottom (photo 1). The dial shows aged discoloration and spotting throughout (photo 1). The movement shows some signs of residue near the battery contact area (photo 8). The integrated stainless steel bracelet shows surface scratches and light grime consistent with age and use (photo 3).
