Vintage Bulova Accutron 218 Tuning Fork Wristwatch 14K Gold Filled Case - A 1967 Bulova Accutron electronic wristwatch featuring a tuning fork movement. The gold-tone dial has a sunburst texture and is applied with black-accented Arabic numerals. A tuning fork logo is applied at the 12 o'clock position above the printed name ACCUTRON. The hands are gold-toned with luminous inserts. The round 14K gold-filled case features a crown positioned at 4 o'clock and a stainless steel tension ring. The exterior case back is stamped BULOVA, PATENTED, WATERPROOF, 14K GOLD FILLED CASE, and the serial number E33376. It also bears the date code M7, indicating manufacture in 1967. The interior of the case back is stamped 1247, 2662, and carries instructions to USE ONLY GENUINE ACCUTRON CELL MARKED 218 and to INSTALL WITH YELLOW CELL TOWARD CASE BACK. The internal electronic movement is stamped BULOVA, U.S.A., and 2180. This timepiece currently needs a battery and its functional status is not guaranteed. Case diameter: approximately 34mm (measured across the width excluding the crown). The dial shows heavy spotting, oxidation, and mottled discoloration across the entire surface (photos 1, 2). The crystal is heavily scratched and scuffed (photos 1, 6). The 14K gold-filled case exhibits significant wear, with scratches on the lugs and case back, and visible brassing on the lug edges (photos 3, 4). There is accumulated dirt and residue around the crown and case back seal (photos 5, 7). The movement shows signs of internal oxidation and debris; the rubber gasket appears degraded and brittle (photos 7, 8).
