A Group of Four Timex Wristwatches for Repair - A collection of vintage wristwatches for repair, featuring various gold-tone and chrome-plated cases. The assortment includes a gold-tone model with a date window at 3 o'clock, the champagne dial is printed Timex and Water Resistant with the numerals 265602572 at the base; the case back is marked Water Resistant / Base Metal Bezel / Stainless Steel Back / Dust Resistant. A second gold-tone watch features an electric movement with the dial printed Timex / Electric and France at the bottom; the reverse shows a circular battery hatch marked Lift Here and a setting crown, stamped Waterproof / Base Metal Bezel Stainless Steel Back. A third gold-tone example has a sunburst dial printed Timex and Waterproof; the case back is marked Timex / Dustproof / Shock Resistant / Waterproof / Base Metal Bezel / Stainless Steel Back. The final watch is a chrome-plated Taiwan-assembled model with an Arabic numeral dial printed Timex / Water Resistant with a wave logo; the case back is marked Water Resistant / Base Metal Bezel / Stainless Steel Back / Assembled in Taiwan. The watches are presented without straps. The watches measure approximately 1 1/4 inches to 1 3/8 inches in diameter. A repair lot showing significant signs of age and use. All acrylic crystals exhibit heavy surface scratches and scuffing (photo 1). The gold-tone cases show extensive plating wear and brassing, particularly on the lugs and bezels (photos 3, 5, 8). There is visible tarnish and oxidation on the hands of the Electric model (photo 4) and the mirrored dial model (photo 1). Several spring bars are bent or corroded (photo 5, 7). The chrome-plated case shows pitting and oxidation to the base metal bezel on the reverse (photo 9). Mechanical functionality and timekeeping have not been tested; the collection is offered as a repair lot.
