Citizen Quartz Gold Toned Base Metal Wristwatch with Date - This Japanese-manufactured vintage wristwatch features a gold-toned base metal case with a decorative bezel displaying raised Roman numerals and index marks. The round black dial is printed with the text CITIZEN QUARTZ at the 12 o'clock position and features a rectangular date aperture at the 3 o'clock position. The dial is further marked at the bottom edge with the printed text JAPAN MOVT-1012-K41727-KA. The watch is equipped with gold-toned hour, minute, and second hands, along with applied baton and geometric hour markers. The screw-down stainless steel case back is stamped with several lines of text: CITIZEN WATCH CO. WATER RESIST S-O-NB BASE METAL 1012-S022705 MSB MOVT JAPAN. A six-digit serial number 681005 is impressed into the center of the case back. The watch is fitted with a brown leather strap featuring an alligator-style grain and a gold-toned buckle. This quartz movement timepiece needs a battery. The watch and strap measure approximately 8 inches in total length. The watch is in heavily used condition. The gold-toned plating on the base metal case shows significant wear, including pitting and loss of finish on the lugs and sides (photo 6, 7). The crystal displays numerous surface scratches and the dial face shows some internal dust or debris (photo 2). The brown leather strap is in poor condition, exhibiting significant cracking, surface finish loss, and structural wear throughout its length (photo 8). The watch was not tested for timekeeping accuracy and requires a battery replacement.
