Tavannes 14kt White Gold Filled Art Deco Ladies Wristwatch - This Art Deco period ladies' wristwatch features an elongated tonneau-shaped case with ornate foliate and geometric engraving along the bezel and sides. The silver-tone dial features a rectangular inner minute track with stylized Arabic numeral hour markers. The case back is hinged and engraved with a laurel wreath border. The watch is paired with a decorative link bracelet featuring a fold-over sliding clasp. The dial bears the printed name TAVANNES. The interior of the case back is stamped TAVANNES QUALITY 14 KT. GOLD FILLED above the serial number 8147789. Several hand-scratched watchmaker service marks are visible in the case interior, including 47331, 47670, and 6971. The bracelet clasp is stamped on the interior GEMEX STAINLESS MADE IN USA. Per provided facts, the mechanical manual wind movement runs but fast. The case measures approximately 1 1/8 inches lug-to-lug, as measured by the scale shown in the images. The watch is in used vintage condition. The crystal is heavily scratched and fractured, with significant cracking near the center (photo 2). The dial shows heavy spotting, oxidation, and patina throughout (photo 11). The case shows surface wear, fine scratching, and areas of tarnish and corrosion, particularly on the interior edges and near the hinge (photo 10). The crown is present but shows surface wear (photo 7). The bracelet shows light surface wear and minor oxidation to the links (photo 5).
