Swiss Sterling Silver and Blue Guilloche Enamel Orb Pendant Watch by Didisheim-Goldschmidt Fils and Co - A Swiss-made manual wind pendant watch designed as a spherical orb. The case is constructed from sterling silver with an interior gold-wash finish. The exterior features translucent light blue guilloche enamel over an engine-turned ground of radiating and wavy patterns. The off-white textured dial is set with black Arabic numerals, a railroad minute track, and two dark-toned hands. The interior of the case back features several stamps: a rectangular cartouche containing the fineness mark 0,935, a small Swiss hallmark of a standing bear, a maker mark reading DIDISHEIM-GOLDSCHMIDT FILS & CO. SWISS, the serial number 17801, and the phrases STERLING SILVER SWISS and ARGENT DORE. The mechanical movement is engraved DIDISHEIM - GOLDSCHMIDT FILS & CO, 15 JEWELS, SWISS, and UNADJUSTED. The top of the orb is fitted with a suspension loop for attachment to a chain or fob. Based on the provided ruler, the orb diameter is approximately 3/4 of an inch. Case diameter: approximately 19mm. The watch is in fair vintage condition. The movement is noted to run then stop, indicating a need for professional mechanical service. The blue enamel case has a significant loss and chip located near the bezel (photo 1, 2). The dial surface shows light spotting and age-related patina (photo 2). The hands exhibit surface oxidation (photo 3). There is visible wear and tarnishing to the gold-wash finish (Argent Dore) on the interior silver surfaces (photo 5, 6).
