G. Juvet Geneva Silver Key Wind Pocket Watch - A mid-19th-century Swiss pocket watch featuring a silver case and a manual key-wind movement. The white enamel dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers, a subsidiary seconds dial at the 6 o'clock position, and steel hands including a moon-tip hour hand. The case back is decorated with engine-turned guilloche engraving surrounding a central unengraved cartouche and floral borders. The interior of the outer case back is stamped with the characters 1 2, U N, and 7 in a vertical arrangement. Both the case interior and the inner dust cover bear the serial number 4 8 3 8. The inner dust cover, or cuvette, is engraved with the text PATENT LEVER, FULL JEWELLED, and GENEVA. A maker's name is engraved at the bottom left of the cuvette reading G. JUVET. The movement features a bridge-style layout characteristic of the Lepine style. The watch is accompanied by a brass-tone metal winding key with a loop handle. Case diameter: 40 mm (measured across the width, excluding pendant and ring). The watch is offered in non-functional condition and does not run. The silver case shows heavy tarnish, surface scratches, and significant wear to the engine-turned engraving (photos 2, 3, and 6). The movement exhibits oxidation and greening to the brass components (photo 9). The enamel dial shows minor surface dirt and small specks (photo 4). The winding key shows surface wear and oxidation (photo 1).
