Elgin Swiss Manual Wind Pendant Watch with Fete Galante Dial - A vintage Swiss-made pendant watch featuring a gold-tone case with an ornate, embossed scrolling floral pattern. The cream-colored dial is decorated with a multi-color illustration in the Fete Galante style, depicting a man and woman in 18th-century attire. The dial is marked with black Roman numerals and features gold-tone filigree hands. At the 6 o'clock position, the word ELGIN is printed, with the word SWISS visible in smaller text below the track. The watch is constructed with a manual wind mechanical movement, visible through a circular crystal aperture on the case back. This aperture is partially covered by an ornate, crescent-shaped filigree overlay. The movement includes a regulator arm marked with S and F. The watch is fitted with an ornate bail for suspension as a pendant. The watch case diameter is approximately 1 1/4 inches. The total height including the bail is approximately 1 3/4 inches. The watch is in a non-functional state and does not run. The gold-tone case shows significant wear to the finish, with base metal showing through and green oxidation present around the bezel and edges (photo 1). The dial appears to be in good condition with no visible fading or significant staining (photo 2). The front crystal shows light surface scratching consistent with age and use (photo 5).
