Hamilton Art Deco Plastic Presentation Watch Box - A vintage molded plastic presentation box for a wristwatch, manufactured for the Hamilton Watch Company. The exterior case is constructed from a cream-colored early plastic, likely Bakelite or celluloid, featuring a distinctive Art Deco stepped base and a domed lid. The lid is decorated with a central raised crest depicting three stars above a horizontal banner reading HAMILTON in capital letters. This central panel is flanked by two rectangular gilded panels featuring a raised scrolling foliate and filigree design against a textured background. The interior of the lid is lined with cream satin, featuring a printed black mark reading HAMILTON in the center. The base is lined with a dark blue flocked or velvet material and contains a flexible C-clip designed to secure a wrist watch. A ruler placed alongside the object indicates the dimensions at the base. Base measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches deep. The exterior plastic case shows minor surface dirt and small dark specks consistent with age, notably on the lid (photo 1) and base (photo 2). The interior shows significant wear; the blue flocked lining is heavily frayed and shedding fibers, particularly visible around the edges of the base (photo 6 and 7). The watch mounting clip shows surface oxidation and residues of old adhesive (photo 7). The satin lid lining shows minor light staining near the hinge area (photo 6). The hinge remains functional and the lid closes flush with the base (photo 4).
