1901. Parkman, Francis. The Oregon Trail. Little, Brown, and Company. Author's Edition. - A 1901 edition of The Oregon Trail: Sketches of Prairie and Rocky-Mountain Life by Francis Parkman, published by Little, Brown, and Company in Boston. This volume is designated as the Author's Edition on the title page and features illustrations by Frederic Remington, including full-page plates titled The War Whoop and The Trapper. The text is printed by the University Press: John Wilson and Son, Cambridge, U.S.A. The internal pages exhibit light toning throughout, with occasional foxing and staining visible in the margins, particularly noted on the illustration plates (photos 6, 10). A corner crease is present on the front flyleaf (photo 4). The external cloth binding shows general soiling and light staining consistent with age (photos 1, 2, 3).
