Bidspirit auction | 1985 and 1986 Galerie Gerda

1985 and 1986 Galerie Gerda Bassenge Auction Catalogs Auction 46 and 47 - A pair of vintage auction catalogs from Galerie Gerda Bassenge, located at Erdener Str. 5a, 1000 Berlin 33. The set includes the catalog for Auction 46, held on Saturday, November 16, 1985, and the catalog for Auction 47, held on Saturday, April 26, 1986. Both catalogs feature a distinctive cover design with a printed collage on transparent acetate over a white cardstock base. The collage includes the text THE VOYAGE, a large numeral 2, and circular graphics containing the words FUNF FINGER and er. One artwork on the cover is signed in the print Jan Voss 76. The catalogs are bound with two hole-punches for a ring binder. The interior pages are printed on brown and white paper stock. The contents include detailed listings for significant 20th-century art and artist books, with entries for Joseph Beuys, Markus Lupertz, Anna Blume, and others. Several entries specify limited editions, signed works, and original contributions. A laid-in transparency featuring an abstract graphic is marked with the name MARKUS in the margin (photo 11). Another transparency depicts a photographic portrait (photo 14). The catalogs provide information on 20th-century art, including works by Fluxus-associated artists. The catalogs show signs of handling consistent with age. There is general toning to the paper stock, visible on the interior pages (photo 3). Minor creasing and softening of the corners are evident on both volumes (photo 1). The transparent acetate covers show light surface scratching and dust soiling (photo 8). There is a small tear or nick to the edge of the transparency in photo 11 near the top hole punch. The hole punches appear well-defined with minimal tearing to the paper edges. No significant losses or heavy staining are visible.
