Steve Leonardi 'Chickadees' (Signed) - This artwork depicts five chickadees positioned among pine branches and a weathered wooden stump. The subjects are rendered with naturalistic detail against a variegated blue and gray background. The work is signed in the lower right corner of the mat in faint cursive script reading Steve Leonardi. The piece is presented under a double mat, featuring a thin dark inner border and a wider, textured cream-colored fabric outer mat. It is housed in a light-toned oak-finish wood frame under glass. The reverse of the frame features a black rectangular adhesive label with white text reading Wildlife Graphics followed by Steve and Kathy Leonardi, R. D. 2, Box 175 E, Prosperity, Pennsylvania 15329, and 412-222-2730. A handwritten pencil notation above the label reads 687. The frame is secured with metal glazier points and the back is covered with brown paper, which is partially encased in a plastic wrap. 10 3/8 x 12 3/8 in. The artwork and frame are in good condition. There is minor evidence of dust and light surface wear to the wooden frame (photo 1). The paper backing on the verso shows some rippling and light handling wear, and the plastic protective wrap is loose and wrinkled (photo 4). No foxing, staining, or fading is visible on the artwork or matting.
