1973. King, Teri. Love, Sex and Astrology. St. Martin's Press. First US Edition (DJ) - A first American edition of Love, Sex and Astrology by Teri King, published in 1973. This hardcover volume is bound in the publisher's red cloth with the title, author's name, and publisher's name stamped in black on the spine. The book is accompanied by its original illustrated dust jacket designed by Richard Weaver, featuring a star chart and a photographic portrait of the author on both the front and back panels. The interior is an octavo format and features numerous black-and-white line illustrations by John Munday, including depictions of astrological signs and stylized figures representing various zodiac signs. The copyright page states Copyright 1973 by Teri King and confirms this as the first publication in the United States of America in 1973 by St. Martin's Press, Inc., 175 Fifth Ave., New York, N.Y. 10010. The text includes various questionnaires and astrological personality profiles. A specific section titled ARE YOU A TYPICAL PISCES MAN? on page 213 contains handwritten marginalia in blue ink, consisting of yes and no responses to the printed questions. The dust jacket shows visible edge wear, including small chips and closed tears along the top and bottom edges (photo 1, photo 3). There is mild rubbing and surface soiling to the white background of the jacket (photo 2). The red cloth binding remains vibrant with crisp black lettering on the spine, showing only minor bumping to the spine ends (photo 5). Internally, the pages exhibit light age-toning consistent with paper stock of the period (photo 6, photo 7). Page 213 contains permanent blue ink marginalia throughout the questionnaire (photo 12). There is a faint damp stain or discoloration visible along the top edge of the rear dust jacket flap and the upper margin of the biographical text (photo 4).
