Circa 1950s-1960s Oversized Napoleon Prints Humorous Father’s Day Greeting Card and Envelope - A vintage, oversized humorous greeting card for Father’s Day, accompanied by its original mailing envelope. The card features a satirical illustration in a mid-century cartoon style. The front illustration shows a large, muscular figure with a yellow anchor tattoo on the upper arm, dressed in a pink romper, lace-trimmed baby bonnet, and booties, holding a pink balloon and a baby bottle. This figure is patting the head of a small man wearing glasses, a white shirt, and green trousers. The text on the front is printed in black capital letters as TO ME FODDER. The interior contains a black-and-white illustration depicting the smaller man bouncing the large figure on his knee, set in a living room scene with blocks and a toy wagon on the floor. The accompanying printed verse is written in a phonetic dialect: by youse I got begot, no day is youse forgot / youse bottled and boiped me; ise been a bodder / youse been like a mudder to me, fodder! ... HAPPY FODDER'S DAY. The card is signed in blue ink James with a handwritten note stating It may be too large - if it is let me know & I’ll exchange it. The front illustration is signed napoleon in the lower-left corner. The reverse of the card features a red printed mark reading NAPOLEON PRINTS above a black logo of a stylized figure in a bicorne hat. Below the logo is a printed copyright symbol followed by $1x365. The upper right corner of the reverse is printed PTD. IN U.S.A. The original white envelope is hand-addressed in blue ink to Daddy and features a printed stamp box reading USE 6c POSTAGE and the instruction Please Hand Stamp. Card: 9 1/8 inches wide by 13 3/4 inches high. The card is in good vintage condition with moderate wear consistent with age, including light corner bumping and minor creasing at the edges (photo 4). There is some light surface soiling and foxing visible on the reverse white panel (photo 11). The interior illustrations and text remain clear. The envelope is in poor condition, characterized by extensive blue ink scribbling and doodles on both the front and back panels (photos 2 and 3). The envelope shows heavy toning, multiple creases, and a large tear along the top closure flap (photo 3).
