1935 and 1938 Trio of Walt Disney Studios Childrens Books Published by Whitman - A trio of vintage Walt Disney illustrated books published by the Whitman Publishing Company of Racine, Wisconsin, in the mid-1930s. This collection features one hardcover volume and two large-format softcover titles in the publisher’s Linen Like series. The first item is a square-format hardcover edition titled The Tortoise and the Hare. The title page states the work was Story and Illustrations by the Staff of the WALT DISNEY STUDIOS and bears a copyright notice reading Copyright 1935 by WALT DISNEY ENTERPRISES. The interior features color-printed illustrations based on the Silly Symphony animated short, alongside black-and-white line art. The second item is a large-format softcover book titled Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Described as An Authorized Book of the WALT DISNEY MOVIE, it features the Linen Like texture indicated by a printed mark on the bottom right of the front cover. The lower-left corner is marked with the number 925. The final page displays a printed notice reading COPYRIGHT 1938 BY WALT DISNEY ENTERPRISES. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs shows significant splitting and paper loss along the spine (photo 10), with creasing and edge wear to the covers. The interior pages show age-toning and some small tears at the leaf edges (photo 13). Donald Duck is in poor to fair condition with heavy spine wear and visible tape repairs (photo 17). There is significant chipping and paper loss along the left edge of the front cover (photo 17). Internal pages exhibit age-toning and foxing, characterized by brown spotting (photo 19).
