An Assortment of Vintage Spanish Language Tarzan Film Lobby Cards Starring Johnny Weissmuller - A collection of vintage color-lithographed movie lobby cards for the Mexican market, featuring Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan. The set includes promotional materials for four separate theatrical releases, characterized by vibrant orange, red, and green color palettes combined with black-and-white film stills. The first card is for Tarzan Contra El Mundo (Tarzan's New York Adventure) and includes credits for Maureen O'Sullivan, John Sheffield, and Virginia Grey. A block of text at the bottom left describes Tarzan facing the modern jungle of New York City. The bottom right bears a red printed credit reading UNA PRODUCCION DE Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Sinaloa No. 20 Mexico, D. F. The second card promotes Tarzan y Su Hijo (Tarzan Finds a Son!) and lists Maureen O'Sullivan and John Sheffield among the cast. It features a green jungle motif and a central still of a couple with a baby. This card also bears the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Sinaloa No. 20 Mexico, D. F. production credit at the bottom. The third card is for El Tesoro De Tarzan (Tarzan's Secret Treasure) with credits for Maureen O'Sullivan, Barry Fitzgerald, and Tom Conway. It depicts various jungle scenes, including elephants and lions. It features the same Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Sinaloa No. 20 Mexico, D. F. credit at the bottom. The fourth card is for Tarzan y La Cazadora (Tarzan and the Huntress), featuring Brenda Joyce and Johnny Sheffield. The artwork shows Tarzan wrestling and swinging on vines against an orange background. The bottom center bears a black printed distribution mark reading Dist. por DISTRIBUIDORA SOTOMAYOR, S. A. Reforma 503. The versos of the cards are plain paper, showing age-related toning. One verso (photo 9) features a circled handwritten 1 in black ink. Another (photo 18) has a handwritten B69 in the upper corner. A third card (photo 27) has a small, aged adhesive paper label reading TARZAN AND THE HUNTRESS in blue ink. Measurements: Width: 16.5 inches Height: 12.5 inches. The collection shows heavy signs of age and original theatrical use throughout. All cards exhibit numerous pinholes in the corners and margins from display (visible in photos 7, 15, and 30). Significant edge wear is present, including creasing, fraying, and small tears along the margins, most notably on the right edges of the Tarzan Contra El Mundo (photo 13) and El Tesoro De Tarzan cards (photo 5). There is light surface scuffing and minor handling soil across the group. The versos show uniform yellowing and local notations in pencil and ink (photos 9, 18, and 27).
