Original 1934 Fox Film Corp. Wild Gold Window Card Movie Poster - This color-lithographed window card was produced for the 1934 Fox Film Corp. motion picture titled Wild Gold. The composition features central portraits of lead actors John Boles and Claire Trevor against an orange field. The upper right corner displays a printed logo reading FOX PICTURE. Below the portraits, the film title is printed in large orange and blue block letters as WILD GOLD. The primary cast list is printed in blue sans-serif type as John Boles - Claire Trevor - Harry Green / Roger Imhof - Ruth Gillette - Monroe Owsley. Below the cast, a credit line reads Directed by George Marshall. The bottom of the card depicts a silhouette scene of several prospectors with shovels and pickaxes, including one leading a pack donkey. Fine print along the bottom margin includes a copyright statement: Copyright MCMXXXIV Fox Film Corp. This display is the property of the Fox Film Corp. It is leased not sold and must be returned to the Fox Film Exchange. Made in U. S. A. The poster is housed in a silver-toned metal frame decorated with a repeating scroll-patterned relief. The reverse is sealed with brown backing paper and includes a twisted wire hanging mechanism. Tape residue is visible at the top edge of the backing paper. Based on the provided ruler, the frame measures approximately 18.25 inches in height and 14.25 inches in width. The paper shows general age-related toning throughout. There is a vertical crease or closed tear approximately 3 inches long extending from the right margin into the orange background behind the female lead (photo 1). Some light surface scuffs are visible on the silver-toned frame (photo 1). The reverse shows significant discoloration and browning to the paper backing (photo 14) and several pieces of yellowed adhesive tape residue along the top edge (photo 15).
