20th Century Reproduction Wax Novelty Wall Plaque with Musicians and Pastoral Scene - A circular novelty wall plaque cast in a natural cream-colored wax with a matte finish. The central high-relief decoration features a pastoral scene depicting a male and female figure in 18th-century courtly shepherd attire. The male figure on the left is shown playing a violin, while the female figure on the right plays a harp. They are flanked by a central flowering tree and additional small animal figures including a dog and sheep. The entire composition is enclosed within a wide, ornate border consisting of pomegranates, various floral blossoms, and acanthus leaf scrollwork. A vertical inscription is impressed into the trunk of the central tree in uppercase serif letters, reading R V E E T M E I N S C H E F E R I N M T M. The plaque is equipped with an integrated wire loop at the top edge for hanging. The reverse side is flat and solid with minor textural variations from the casting process. Approximately 8.125 inches in diameter at the widest point. A small chip to the wax is present on the upper outer rim near the wire hanger attachment point (photo 2). Minor surface abrasions and superficial nicks are visible along the circular perimeter (photo 1). A light accumulation of dust and fine debris is present within the deeper recesses of the relief carving throughout the piece (photos 3, 4, and 5). The back surface shows light smudging and minor superficial scratches (photo 6).
