1972-1975 A Trio of Anchor Books Foxfire Series Paperbacks in Original Slipcase - This set consists of three paperback volumes from the Foxfire series, edited with introductions by Eliot Wigginton and published by Anchor Books. The collection includes The Foxfire Book, Foxfire 2, and Foxfire 3, which document Southern Appalachian heritage, folklore, and traditional crafts. Each volume is bound in a flexible cardstock cover and the set is housed in a coordinating yellow cardstock slipcase. The books include numerous black and white photographic plates and diagrams illustrating topics such as log cabin building, hog dressing, and mountain crafts. The copyright page of the first volume indicates an Anchor Books edition dated 1972 with ISBN 0-385-07353-4. The second volume is an Anchor Books edition dated 1973 with ISBN 0-385-02267-0. The third volume is an Anchor Press edition dated 1975 with ISBN 0-385-02272-7. The slipcase and each book spine feature the Anchor publisher logo. The original cardstock slipcase shows significant shelf wear, including rubbing to the surface, small tears at the edges, and minor soiling (photos 1 and 4). The individual paperback covers exhibit light wear to the edges and corners (photos 5, 8, and 11). There is noticeable fading to the spines of all three volumes (photo 3). The interior pages and illustrations appear to be in good condition with no visible markings or significant discoloration (photos 7, 10, and 13).
